Scotch® High Temperature Masking Tape 214, Tan, 16 mm x 55 m, 0.147 mm

We developed Scotch® High Temperature Masking Tape 214 with an adhesive formulation that makes it one of the few tapes that can be used on copper, silver and other metals. Our heavy crepe paper backing is treated to provide excellent stain resistance and the adhesive is very firm, allowing it to be used on most treated metals.

Scotch® High Temperature Masking Tape 214 will perform in a wide variety of high heat, treated metal, and stain resistant applications and generally withstand bake cycles up to 350ºF/ 177ºC for one hour, even on treated metals. The crepe paper backing tears easily, and offers moderate conformability, and lifts off cleanly. The natural rubber adhesive bonds well to paper, metal, drywall, wood, and painted surfaces with reliable holding power that resists lifting and curling. Under normal operating conditions the tape features one piece removal and is sliver resistant. ​What is Masking Tape? Masking tape was developed specifically to help protect surrounding surfaces from overspray, provide clean paint lines, and remove easily and cleanly when finished. Our masking tapes adhere well, resist solvents or water from the paint, and are strong enough to hang plastic sheeting, yet remove cleanly without damaging the subsurface. The backing, typically crepe paper, can conform to curved and irregular surfaces. The tape hand tears for tool-free application. A masking tape should specify what surfaces it will stick to and the interval over which it will remove cleanly. A very thin or poorly manufactured tape may demonstrate splintering or shredding, either coming off the roll or when being removed after use. Some masking tapes have the tensile strength for light commercial and industrial applications, including bundling, labeling, sealing, temporary repairs, lane marking, splicing, and surface protection. The classic crepe paper masking tape is a light tan color, but our masking tapes come in a variety of colors and formulations to meet general and specific applications.
